I’m procrastinating this morning, and decided to participate in IHeartFaces.com’s fix-it Friday. I am without Photoshop for another couple of days (long story) so I am only using Lightroom at the moment. Usually I use a combination of both. Let me say, it has given me ample opportunity for Lightroom and I to become friends. All of the photos of Molly and her balloons were Lightroom-edited only, aside from throwing together the collage with Pixelmator. All of the photos I’ve posted of Natalie and Andrew‘s very mini session (we literally had five minutes to get some shots of both of them together, then he had to leave) were all edited in Lightroom so far, although I have two I’m holding off on posting until I have access to Photoshop again.

So yeah, that’s the story there, and without further ado…here is my fix-it Friday. Original photo was taken by Angie Arthur.

My Lightroom Fix: Color

Here’s what I did: Cropped in a bit tighter, and -2 post crop vignette, did a bit of split toning to a taupe color.

Then I did some detailed touch-ups: The dress was a bit blown out, so I used a wide feather brush and made a few adjustments:

The little girl in the white dress’s skin was looking a bit washed out, so I brushed then saturated a bit and decreased exposure.

Another Skin Tone Fix:

A couple of fixes to the black spots in the hair, and gave it a bit more dimension because the color adjustments I made had flattened it a bit.

Annnnd…there you go!
It was really easy, from there, to make a fairly quick black and white conversion with just a few minor changes to the exposure and the brushstrokes. Wish I had time to detail out what I did here but unfortunately I have to run.
